The Gospel is the good news that God has made a way of salvation through the life, death, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ for any person. (1 Corinthians 15:1-8)
GOD IS HOLY. God is absolutely and perfectly holy (Isaiah 6:3, Revelation 4:8), therefore He cannot commit or approve of evil. In 1Peter 1:16 it says “Be holy, because I am holy.” God requires holiness of us as well.
MANKIND IS SINFUL. According to Scripture, everyone is guilty of sin. Romans 3:23 says “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. ” SIN DEMANDS A PENALTY. God’s holiness and justice demand that all sin be punished by death. Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Ezekiel 18:4 says “The one who sins is the one who will die.”
GOD LOVES US. Even though God’s justice demands death for sin, His love has provided a Savior, Jesus Christ, who paid the penalty and died for sinner. 1 Peter 3:18 “For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God.” John 3:16 says "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Grace is God's generous decision to provide salvation for any who believes and receives Jesus Christ. Ephesians 2:8-10 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Romans 10:9-13 9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. 11 As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.” 12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13 for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
John 1:12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— 1John 5:11-13 And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.13 I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.
Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner. I believe you died on the cross in my place, to save me from my sins, and I accept you as my Savior, and the Master of my life forever. Amen
